Altruist: Driving Growth with Performance-Design

Altruist is a platform designed for RIAs (registered investment advisors), empowering them to manage client portfolios, open digital accounts, handle funding, generate native billing and reporting, and access fractional shares. As part of Altruist’s growth strategy, I collaborated with their marketing team to create impactful performance creatives that delivered measurable results.

The Challenge

Altruist faced the challenge of improving performance in their paid media campaigns to achieve higher conversion rates and reduce cost per lead. The goal was to create highly effective LinkedIn and Google Display ads, along with conversion optimized landing pages that aligned with the brand’s objectives.

The Approach

I worked closely with the CMO, Growth Manager, Creative Director, and Paid Media Strategist to define a clear strategy. Each quarter, we aligned campaign objectives with Altruist’s business goals to ensure our efforts targeted the right audience with the right message. To elevate performance and engagement, I developed specific ad sets and landing pages tailored to three core visual pillars:

By showcasing relatable scenarios that investment advisors could connect with.

Abstract shapes and designs strategically used to draw attention and enhance visual impact.

A/B Testing for Optimization

To enhance performance, I implemented multiple A/B tests to identify what resonated best with the audience. I conducted biweekly performance reviews with the team, where I gathered data (CTR, CVR, Bounce Rates, etc.), analyzed results, and presented reports. Additionally, I conducted quarterly audits of landing pages, reviewing heatmaps and session recordings to identify insights that could help improve conversions. This data-driven approach allowed us to refine creatives continuously based on insights and performance trends.

Results & Conclusion

The performance design strategy and data-driven optimizations delivered great results for Altruist. Landing page conversion rates increased to 10.2%, outperforming the previous 3.6% average. Ad conversion rates improved to 4.3%, exceeding the previous 3-5% benchmark. Most notably, the improved creative approach decreased cost per lead by 125%, significantly boosting MQLs and SQLs. This success reflects the power of strategic collaboration, thoughtful design decisions, and continuous optimization.
